Welcome to the Living Sky School Division's Teaching for Information Literacy Site. This site isGirl at computer desk designed to help teachers integrate information literacy skills into their curriculum and thus facilitate and encourage the development of information literate students.

The skills addresed in the portal are based on the Information Literacy Skills Benchmarks created by the NBCHS Information Literacy Committee.

This portal was started as part of a Technology Integration Project funded by the Educational Technology Consortium and completed as a project submitted to the College of Graduate Studies and Research In Partial Fulfillment of the Requirements For the Degree of Master of Education In the Department of Curriculum Studies, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, March 2008.

The purpose of these resources is to help teachers navigate the increasing expectation to develop in students the ability to use critical thinking skills to ask good questions and to find the information that not only provides answers but compels meaningful action.

These resources are structured around the key principles of the inquiry cycle and are intended to provided teachers with the knowledge, the skills, the tools and the resources to effectively incorporate the information literacy into all classes and subject areas to help our students become effective, ethical and safe users of information.
